Cermak Pond ReflectionAbout Share Purchase
While jogging through Cermak Park at dusk one evening, I noticed that, from the right angle, it was possible to capture a mirror reflection of both the sky and the trees in Cermak Pond. I returned after my jog and shot for a few minutes before it became too dark to do so. This was the best of the photos that I took.
What I like about this image so much is the plants growing in the water at the bottom. The top of the photo is a little bit of a mystery–I’m guessing most people will be able to tell that it’s a picture of a sunset as reflected on a body of water after a few seconds–but it’s the plants in the water at the bottom that give balance and purpose to the symmetry above. The colors are beautiful and it really is intriguing how the reflection almost perfectly mirrors the sky. I have prints of this photo in my house and the reflection is so good that there have been numerous times I have attempted to hang them upside down.
