About Share PurchaseEvery once in a while I meet up with a beat cop who patrols the area in one of my photos. I met with the beat cop for south LaSalle Street at an art festival. He loved this image of the Chicago Board of Trade and peered in at it intently. “I see you’re taking this in the middle of the street,” he said to me.
I nodded and told him I set my tripod up over the double yellow lines going down the center of the street.
“Weren’t you afraid you’d be hit by a car coming from behind you?” he asked.
I shook my head. “Nope,” I said. “I parked my car behind me. Anyone coming from behind me would have had to go through it to get to me.”
“You parked your car in the middle of the street?” the beat cop asked me. He didn’t wait for an answer. “I don’t know what’s worse; that you did that or that you knew to do that in the first place.” Then he laughed.
