Coral Valley

One of the nice things about still photos is that there isn’t any perspective or context to them.  The viewer is just dropped into an image.

In this particular photo, it looks as though I’m shooting a house that is built on top of a 30-foot tall cliff that looks onto a lagoon.  If you’d been on location with me though, you’d have known that that ’30-foot tall cliff’ is actually about ten inches tall and that the way I got this image was by actually placing my camera in the water (in a plastic case) so that I could shoot almost directly up.

On other note about this picture: it hurt immensely to take it.  The ‘cliffs’ are old, almost razor sharp coral.  Lying down on this to get low was something I doubt I’ll do again without large amounts of cushioning.

What size photo do you recommend getting?

When purchasing photos, we recommend that you get the largest size that will fit both your budget and your wall. One large piece tends to be more striking than three smaller pieces.

We offer only one type of frame. A half inch, black metal frame (give or take a 1/8 inch) that looks exactly like the one surrounding the images on this website. All frames are custom made and come standard with acid-free mattes and non-glare glass.
