Winter really is a gorgeous time to see Niagara Falls even if you won’t be able to feel your face or finger tips at the end of your scenic walk.
I’ve been wanting to shoot Niagara Falls in winter for a while. I thought the American side of the Falls would make for a great backdrop for a fashion shoot. Because of the spray from the falls (which you can see in the middle of this photo) and the cold temperatures, all of the trees on the west side of the American side of the Falls are covered in a weird combination of snow and ice. First the snow falls on the trees, then the spray lands on the snow and when it freezes, the snow is effectively locked in place. It’s pretty cool looking, all things considered. A model in a red dress would work beautifully against that backdrop.
