I think there’s a sister statement to that one that goes: If you’re going to do something different, don’t be tentative. If you’re trying out some crazy graphic design, don’t half-ass it. Go ALL the way crazy.
And that’s basically how I feel about this photo. I shot it on a foggy night when the bridge was disappearing into the thick air. It looked so different that I decided to push things as far as they could go and see what happened. This is the result.
The photo is heavily, heavily, heavily focused on the right side–I mean, the left side of the image is just white–and the bridge itself starts very black and then fades to a lighter shade of grey. It’s nuts. It’s half a photo! And somehow it works. This photo speaks to my inner crazy and keeps things off-balanced in a really visually pleasing manner.
