Sunset on the Pamlico Sound

I say this because it looks like the kind of thing I’d normally seen in a travel magazine for some far away land that has to be shot at just the right time of year with the right camera filters to appear like this. But, nope! This is just a great sunset on the Pamlico Sound in Avon, North Carolina. Seriously, it looks like it should be in Blade Runner 2049 with these colors. And, again, I want to stress this: this is exactly the way it looked when I shot it.
Normally, I’m hesitant to have people in my sunset photos for fear that they will be distracting. In this case though, the people make the shot. They are standing on a small peninsula of sand that juts out into the sound about 50 feet. You can’t really see the peninsula in the image (which makes it appear cooler) but you can see where it is based upon where the water texture changes.
