Downtown Chicago from Above (Arteries of Gold)
About Share PurchaseI have always said that the yellowest yellow I’ve encountered while shooting is the yellow from the Chicago street lights. It’s almost unfathomably yellow to the camera, even with the normal tricks applied to lessen it. This phenomenon is even more noticeable from the air; all roads are bathed in an intense yellow light that looks like liquid gold is flowing throughout the city. That or a Chicago-styled Pac-Man game.
One of the strangest parts of being up this high in a helicopter was that it was genuinely hard to discern where the Sears Tower was. I’m sure it being night had something to do with it, but if you asked me before we took flight whether I’d be having an incredibly difficult time spotting one of the ten tallest buildings in the world, I’d have had a hard time believing it. (It’s in the left third of the photo, just above the largest, non-lake dark spot in the photo).
