Heaven’s Gazebo
About Share PurchaseI was driving along the road between Boddentown and East End and saw an absolutely spectacular house on the south side of the road. It was on a narrow plot of land–it didn’t seem like there was more than 100 feet between the road and the sea–and had a dock with a gazebo on it that was out of a tourism pamphlet. I pulled over, banged on the door and introduced myself to the owner. He had just finished restoring the house and was only too happy to show me around. I asked if I could shoot there at some point and he graciously allowed me to do so. I took this photo as I was location scouting, so to speak. Confirming that the location was good, as the man was giving me a tour of his home, a couple stopped by to find out if they could take their wedding photos out in the gazebo.
I took numerous photos of the property, including several of the world’s best gazebo. Usually I don’t release multiple examples of the same location, but in this case, I’m going to make an exception. I love this image of the gazebo and the hammocks. However, I also love the wider version of this same scene. You can see the other photo here. In this case, there is no right and wrong.
