When I first started shooting fashion, it took a while to get used to the lingo that people in the industry used to describe models. I remember overhearing an agent talk about a model he repped who was ‘strong and vulnerable at the same time’. I was confused. They were polar opposite emotional states; it didn’t seem as though one person could display both at the same time.
Fast forward ten years and here I am, looking at this photo of Lauren and marveling at how well she pulls off both ‘strong’ and ‘vulnerable’ at exactly the same time.
More interestingly still, if she tilted her head an inch up, she would instantly lose the vulnerability.
