Miami Vice Doorway
About Share PurchaseI was driving down a roughly two mile long dead end street to see what was at the end. The Caribbean was about 30 yards to my north and the rest of the island was to my south. As I drove along, I spied a house that was entirely white, pink and light blue. It brought a smile to my face. It was the most Caribbean-y house one could imagine. I was most fascinated by its front porch. The walls were white, the ceiling was white, the floor was white, the door was white… frankly, I’m surprise the windows weren’t painted white. The only color accents came on the shutters, railing and trim (and even some of the trim was white). I took a couple of photos of it, grinning broadly while doing so.
As an aside, while editing the image later, I noticed that the door handle was on the right side of the door. I thought that was very odd. Then I realized that my own house door has the handle on the right side, as does my parents’ house. Apparently, the one thing I have not been paying attention to in my life is how door handles look in their natural setting.
