I have no idea what I expected when I decided to shoot in an abandoned parking garage at night using only practical light.  As with so many things I try, it could have failed horribly.  Frankly, it probably should have.  Fortunately for me, it didn’t.

After the shoot finished and I got home, I uploaded the images we got and began looking through them.  I couldn’t believe the texture of light I was getting.  It might seem hard to believe, but this photo is basically straight-out-of-camera.  As I pulled out my selects, I pulled out a series of photos that was normal.  Normal in the bad way.  After spending a week culling through the photos we got, I realized that the edginess of the images was off the charts.  I didn’t want anything that seemed soft or subtle; I wanted sharp, dark photos with energy.  That describes this photo to a ‘T’.

We were shooting and I noticed that Maddie’s bra strap was falling down.  I told her to fix it and, immediately after she did so, I realized that it looked too clean.  The strap went down again.  Interested in getting even further away from clean, I instructed Haesi to start pulling the bra strap down even more.  That was when we got this image.
