The Swinging Bridge… Oh Yeah!
About Share PurchaseRoughly twice a year, it gets super yellow outside. August 25th was one of those nights and, luckily for me, also included a rainbow.
I have no idea what the scientific explanation for this phenomenon is–the sun’s rays bouncing off saturated clouds?–but it feels as though you’re wearing some sort of filtered sunglasses. August 25th marked the yellowest light I can remember experiencing. It was so yellow, I had to adjust the white balance on my camera as though I was shooting at night under a sodium vapor light. Even so, the images were *still* yellow.
This was a shot I got of Riverside’s Swinging Bridge just before the rainbow disappeared that, in no way, accurately conveys how yellow it actually was outside.
(By the way, this photo’s title is a ‘Yello’ joke, chick-ah chick-ah).
