The East End
About Share PurchasePerspectives are a funny thing. Turn 180 from what you’re shooting and you have a completely different scene. Usually when I say something like this, I mean it figuratively. In the case of this photo, I mean it literally. I was shooting the Caribbean Sea from atop a four-story structure on the east end of Grand Cayman, turned around 180 degrees and saw this.
What’s impressive to me about this photo is the vastness of the green nothingness. Grand Cayman is not a big island by any stretch of the imagination. It’s 35 miles from one side to the other, or what some of my friends call their morning commute. There are scores of towns and structures throughout the island, but when you stand on the eastern most portion of it and look west, it looks like nothing is there. Just jungle as far as the eye can see.
