The Parking Garage Exhibit – Madeline Diane & Haesi Fanizzo Photo #12
About Share PurchaseOne thing about shooting two models is that there is never such a thing as ‘too close’. If two models stand side-by-side with their shoulders touching, it will look far apart in camera. It’s one of the hardest things for newer models to get over: you need to jam your face and your body into the other person. That half inch of space you leave between your nose and the other model’s nose is too much. The same holds true with ‘respectful’ hand positioning. I’m not suggesting that a male model gets to grope a female model for the photo, but the more respectful the hand positioning, the worse it looks in camera.
It’s a weird head space for the models to be sure. In this case, Haesi and Maddie had met an hour earlier and in our first set up, I was instructing him to grab her and jam his face into her neck. After some tentative efforts, Haesi buckled down and started removing all space from between him and Maddie. The result is this photo.
