From rural North Carolina to Detroit to the Cayman Islands to the middle of nowhere Canada, I’ve seen, entered and shot more abandoned buildings than any one man ever should. The abandoned Winchester Factory in New Haven Connecticut was wildly different than every other abandoned building I’ve ever encountered. Because there was a sense of hustle and bustle that completely surrounded it. Literally the only place that the Winchester Factory seemed abandoned was inside it.
This is a photo of the parking lot just outside the main entrance to the factory. This isn’t across the street or down the block from the Winchester Factory, it’s right next to it. The parking lot was so full, I felt lucky to get a spot! And that’s not a thought that often crosses your mind when shooting abandoned buildings either.
